- Karli S Hayden - More than helpfulWe used this book for the general travel information, Rome, Venice, Naples, and the island of Capri. (We also visited Bologna, but the book didn't include a section on it.) Each section was thorough and offered good insight into the city layout, flavor/culture and the best bets for activities and restaurants.
One of my favorite features was the self-guided walks of attractions and through the heart of Rome, Naples, and Venice. If you have a smart phone or MP3 player, it's easy to use the accompanying audio guides.
I hope there is a book for the next place I visit. - Dan Woods (dwoods@ucalgary.ca) - SCD works, even after multiple surgeriesI've been on the SCD diet since June/97 and it does work. I've had 40 inches of small bowel removed after two surgeries, and SCD works.Elaine does a good job of explaining the principles of the diet and is a must read for any IBD sufferers (Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, IBS). Regardless what the so-called medical specialists say, diet change does matter. Within two days of starting the diet, all my heartburn problems have disappeared ever since.I started the SCD diet because I was having a flare-up (lost weight, frequency, ...) and my specialist wanted me to nose-tube feed myself at night. I chose the diet instead and have been feeling good without regrets, and I am sure the SCD prevented the need for a 3rd surgery.Check out the SCD website at which provides a lot of support and testimonials. - L. Lundahl "LL" - the best foundation I have ever triedThis is the best foundation I have ever tried. Thinking that perhaps a less expensive mineral foundation would work, I have tried mineral makeup by Loreal and Physician's Formula. I have been disappointed in both situations. Nothing goes on as light and natural as Bare Minerals.
One tip: Use a light, airy brush for application (a blush brush like the "flawless face" brush) in addition to the small concealer brush for spot coverage. This makes for a light finish. Using a stiff brush will make any mineral makeup looked caked on, and increase line visibility rather than reduce it!
My one complaint is the packaging. I hate that you have to screw the lids on and off and that loose powder sometimes gets scattered everywhere when you are doing this. No matter how neat you try to be, you will eventually have a moment where powder gets on surfaces and clothing it shouldn't be on. Wish the company would fix this, I know I am not the first to complain about it.
Love Bare Minerals. I would sell it myself if I could! - jesse bartlett - I just didn't know.....Holy Moley,I just didn't know until I read this book. This book clearly illustrated to me just what I've been doing in relationships that get me into trouble. It doesn't stop there either.While reading, I could begin to see the shroud of darkness lift from my eyes, and clarity begin to set in. I am a love addict, and have been picking avoidant addicts for years and never knew it. Now I can see the reasons for the pain I was forced to endure. I am now happily on the road to recovery.If you have any questions at all about your troubled relationships of the present or past, buy this book!
